Based on 1,401 reviewsLe Consulat consistently receives praise for its warm and efficient service, with staff commonly described as friendly and attentive even during busy times. The restaurant's culinary offerings are noted for their quality and flavorful execution, ranging from traditional French dishes like escargot, duck breast, and onion soup to comforting classics such as omelets, crepes, and croque madame. Guests appreciate the reasonable pricing and the inviting atmosphere, often enhanced by live street music, which contributes to a memorable dining experience. Some feedback mentions variations in dish preparation, such as the crepes' strong alcohol flavor, suggesting room for minor refinements. Overall, Le Consulat stands out as a charming spot combining good food, quick service, and a pleasant ambiance.
We enjoyed it. Service was good: fast and nice. Food was good. We had croque madame and crepes. Crepes has strong alcohol flavor, I guess, they should be flambee a it longer. Chocolate sweet and tasty. Creme brulee was absolute heaven
Excellent service, good food for fair prices. We had omelet and linguini, both very tasteful!
Lovely atmosphere, wonderful waiter and delicious food!We had 2 different types of the omelettes with salad and both made a very wholesome meal alongside the complimentary bread (also very good!).Everyone was friendly; helpful and although busy, service was quick! The street musicians playing whilst we enjoyed our meal topped it off. They make a very good Diablo drink. Very memorable experience
Their services were impeccable, and the dishes were nothing short of culinary perfection. There was a small band playing lovely music with crowds gathering to listen. The escargot were perfectly cooked, as was the duck breast. The onion soup was like nothing I've ever had and I only want it that way from now on. It was more of a chicken broth than beef and it was very rich without being too salty or heavy. The gravy on the duck paired nicely with the French fries, making a poutine of sorts. Lovely place. Don't believe the negative reviews, some people are just sour. Have an open mind and give it a shot. You won't be disappointed.
The service was friendly and efficient—we were served very quickly. The food was good, and the prices were reasonable. Overall, a pleasant and satisfying visit.
Had lunch with this historical place! We didnt have reservations but accomodated us right away. The food is delicious. We had an amazing dining experience here! Will definitely comeback!
Very nice place in a great location. It's supposed to be a historic establishment frequented by famous artists in the past. Actually not that special inside but not that bad either. The duck breast was amazing! Also the french onion soup.
